These enormous sunflowers grow to 4.5 Metres - 14 Feet Tall. Direct sow into warm soil after last frost. Space plants 3 feet apart. Staking plants or arranging against a fence is beneficial. Organic fertilizer will produce largest plants. When the back of the flower head turns yellow it is ready to cut from the plant. 2 cm (1") Long Edible Seeds. Optimal soil temperature for germination: 21-30°C (70-85°F). Seeds sprout in 10 to 14 days.

Grown as an annual in Canada, this mixture of yellow, orange, apricot and cream coloured flowers will inspire and motivate your little garden buddies to participate in your gardening activities throughout the summer months. Calendula flowers have far too many uses to mention here, however these uses would be a worthwhile researching activity. A raised garden favourite to add warm colours around your ornamental grasses and Hostas. A member of the cress family that comes in red, orange and yellows flowers. Chefs use flowers commonly as a garnish for salads. Collect the seeds seasonally and dry on brown kraft paper to later put into mason jars to store through the winter in your pantry. Plants grow 30cm (12") tall. To encourage blooming, pick off faded flowers for continual production.
